About Me

Young children, for the most part, are unable to vocalise their health concerns. Children have an inherent innocence and vulnerability. As a young doctor, I realised that I had the personality and the clinical skills to be an advocate for children. Being part of their healing journey is an immense responsibility which I take seriously. I am a mother of two girls (who are now young ladies). I can therefore relate to parents and caregivers when it comes to their concerns around their children.

As much as I am dedicated to my practice and my patients, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking nutritious meals, frequenting the gym, hiking on weekends, dancing to the right note and travelling to new and exciting destinations.

My Experience

In 1993, I obtained my MBChB degree from the University of Witwatersrand. Thereafter, I completed my internship at Baragwanath Hospital, in Soweto, in 1994. Having developed a keen interest in paediatrics during my time as a medical officer, I decided to specialise in Paediatrics and Child Health. I completed my MMed qualification, in the year 2000, at the University of Pretoria.

I then worked at Pretoria Academic Hospital as a consultant Paediatrician for 2 years where I mentored students and registrars. In addition to mentoring students and registrars, I assisted with the running of the endocrine and neurology clinics to broaden my knowledge of these sub- specialities.

In 2002, after the  birth of my second daughter, I started my first private practice at Medforum Hospital in Pretoria. An opportunity arose for me and my family to relocate to Cape Town in 2006, and I was fortunate to secure a suite at Louis Leipoldt Medical Centre in Bellville.
I have completed the Basic and Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Life Support Certificates to keep abreast of the most current interventions.
My field of interest ranges from early childhood development, paediatric endocrinology, diabetes mellitus, ADHD, autism and anxiety disorders in childhood.

I am a member of the HPCSA, MPS and PMG.
